Greetings to all visitors to our website, “Christ-Centered Sports, Games, and Friendship Club,” also known on this website as the Christ-Centered Sports Club or simply the Club.

I, Charles E. Hunt, created this website to try to help bring as many of God’s beloved children as possible closer to Him and His Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. And that we may all experience more trusting and loving relationships with God, with ourselves, with our family members, and with each other while on earth and forever, with greater real joy, love, brotherly kindness, respect, inner peace, goodness, and greater faith and love for Jesus Christ as our Savior.

What did Jesus Christ teach us about how we can know who His true followers and disciples are? He clearly taught that we can know them by whether or not they have genuine love for one another and also that “you will know them by their good fruits,” as Jesus describes in the following Bible verses:

John 13:34-35: “A new commandment I give to you, that you  love  one another; as I have loved you, that  you also  love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Just as Jesus Christ taught us to do, our central focus will be to continue improving in all our interactions with God, with ourselves, with our family members, and with others, with genuine love, kindness, and respect.

Matthew 7:16-18: “  You will know  them  by their fruits . Do people gather grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Every good tree bears  good fruit , but a  bad tree  bears  bad  fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.”

Many Christian pastors today have completely changed what Jesus taught and say that we should judge some groups and individuals as non-Christians by other methods that Jesus did not teach, such as if they interpret this or that Bible verse differently than they judge, condemn, and label others as non-Christians.

One of our most important goals is to help young people and children of God of all ages choose to live a Christ-centered life and realize that this is the wisest and most joyful choice.

We want to encourage one another, especially by example, to follow what Jesus Christ taught: the two greatest and most important commandments of loving and serving God and loving and serving our fellow human beings, as He describes them in the Bible verses below:

Matthew 22:36-40: “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” And Jesus said to him, “  You shall love  the Lord your God with all your  heart , and with all your soul, and with all your mind.” This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it, ‘  You shall love  your neighbor as yourself. ’ On  these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

Since Jesus Christ Himself taught us that these are the two greatest commandments of all, this will also be our highest and most important priority and focus in our Christ-centered sports, games, and friendship gatherings. All who choose to participate in our Club activities are expected to show genuine kindness, respect, and brotherly love toward other Club members and toward their families and others with whom they interact in their daily lives. Of course, none of us is perfect, but Jesus clearly taught us to follow Him and the example of His life, doing good and showing kindness, love, and respect toward all of God’s children. He also promised that this would bring far more love, joy, inner peace, goodness, and faith into our lives and the lives of others than anything else. See Galatians 5:22, etc.

By serving others in simple ways, by giving gifts like a kind smile, a listening ear, being a true friend, etc., we learn to love others and build relationships of trust and love. Albert Schweitzer wisely taught: “I do not know what your destiny will be, but one thing I do know: the only ones among you who will be truly happy will be those who have sought and found how to serve.”

As we daily strive to pray for a closer relationship with our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, and pray for His love and grace in our lives, and accept Jesus Christ as our Savior, our hearts and desires will be joyfully transformed. It will become increasingly easier and more attractive to follow the joyful and loving teachings of Jesus Christ and to avoid the vices and temptations of the devil.

Our goal will be to help each other clearly understand that our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ are far wiser than anyone else and that They have lovingly given us commandments and teachings to bring much more true love, joy, inner peace, etc. into our lives and relationships than we could ever have by following the worldly teachings taught by the devil and his team of deceivers and liars, who deceive by promising happiness in a sinful life, worldly pleasures and drugs, alcohol, selfishness and a constant search for fun and excitement, a prideful life, accumulation of things, etc.

I also started this website and the encouragement for the Christ-Centered Sports, Games, and Friendship Clubs to help clear up about 200 years of intentional false slander by the devil and his team against the Christian Church to which I most gratefully choose to belong, “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.” Most of those who spread false slander against us, the Bible-believing Christians in our Church who deeply love Jesus Christ as our Savior, are actually also Bible-believing Christians who have been deceived and developed prejudices against us by 200 years of false slander by the devil and his team. I believe that good Christians, who have developed prejudices against us because of the false slander and who choose to prayerfully and openly examine what our Church truly believes and teaches, will love it and end up feeling that there is no Christian Church anywhere that is more Christ-centered.

Anyone is welcome to join us in our Christ-Centered Club activities, even if they are not Christians, as long as they are willing to commit to continuing to improve in treating each member of our Club and one another in a Christlike manner, as Jesus Christ taught us to do: with kindness, respect, genuine friendship, brotherly love, without profanity or vulgar language, etc. Part of showing respect for others is that you agree not to speak negatively about the faith or religious views of others in the Club, and that you will not spread or encourage others to look at materials against The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or any other anti-Church materials. Please let us look for the good in each other and be thankful for the many areas we share in common, such as our shared love for the Bible and for Jesus Christ as our Savior, and for His joy- and love-producing teachings.

My name is Elder Charles Hunt. “Elder” is a priesthood title and office I am asked to use while serving as a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, also known for short on this website as the Church of Jesus Christ, or simply the Church. My dear and lovely wife and I are retired and are joyfully serving an 18-month unpaid Christian mission in Loja, Ecuador, like the other 75,000 of our current Christian Church missionaries who volunteer to do so around the world. A few thousand of us are retired couples and singles who volunteered to serve. The vast majority of our missionaries are amazing, caring, young, single men and women between the ages of 18 and 25. Why did we so willingly sacrifice so much to serve full-time unpaid? Simply because of our deep love for the beautiful teachings of Jesus Christ and for Jesus Christ as our Savior.

Even if you’re not interested in sports and games, we encourage you to come to our meetings to enjoy mingling and building joyful friendships with other Christ-centered children of God, who recognize that all real joy during our time on earth and forever lies in relationships. For those who don’t build relationships while playing sports and games, we encourage you to gather in small or large circles of two or more people, and make sure everyone is included. And move around to meet others in other groups. If you’re alone, take a seat with a group. If you see someone alone, invite them to join your group and get to know each other better.

I created the content of this website, so I am solely responsible for any errors it may contain. I have tried to write only factual things on this website, but nothing I have written here has been approved by our Church leaders as official doctrine or teachings of our Church. I am just a typical example of the approximately 75,000 missionaries serving worldwide in our Church right now, who are trying to live joyful and loving Christ-centered lives, as our Church leaders and the Bible and Book of Mormon clearly teach us to do.

Below are a couple of photographs of my dear and lovely wife, Sister Amparo Hunt, and me. Missionary sisters in our Church are asked to be known by the title of Sister Hunt, etc.

Important: For any of you attending any of our Christ-centered gatherings, if you do not wish to have your photos appear on our website, please send me a message through the “Contact” tab at the top right of the website to let me know.
